As 2018 winds down, we thought we’d highlight a couple of interesting projects from the past year. Also, on behalf of all of Heinen Landscape’s hard-working team members we’d like to say, “Thank You!” for your business this past year. We look forward to serving you in 2019 and beyond!

Techo-Bloc Walkway

This past fall, the hardscape professionals at Heinen created a visually vivid walkway as part of a side entrance for a beautiful home in the West Plaza neighborhood. The project included a stunning Techo-Bloc walkway, three bubbler fountains and a professionally designed lighting installation creating a one-of-a-kind home entrance. “I’m very pleased with the transformation,” said the West Plaza homeowner. “With the right plan, products and installation, the old entrance was transformed into a dramatic new entryway for our home!” If you too are looking for a visually pleasing – and extremely durable – walkway or patio, Techo-Bloc might be the answer! AquaBlox

In 2018, the roller coaster weather in Kansas City featured multiple bouts of heavy rainfall. For many homeowners, excessive rain often leads to serious yard-drainage issues –including destructive yard flooding, basement flooding and even foundation damage. To combat the threat of rainwater damage, the drainage pros at Heinen installed AquaBlox – a new environmentally-friendly solution for homeowners with complex drainage issues. Buried in the homeowner’s backyard and covered with soil and grass, hidden piping redirects excess rainwater away from the home and into the underground AquaBlox installation. Designed with extreme structural support, the hollow, crate-like AquaBlox create what is essentially an underground storage tank for water. Not only do AquaBlox prevent flooding, but they also provide natural landscape benefits including controlled irrigation for better plant growth! A Plant-Healthy Start to 2019 – Anti-Desiccant Spray

Plants that display live foliage year-round (including junipers, cedars and hollies), can be seriously damaged during the often bitter-cold – and dry – Kansas City winter months. No one likes to look out their front window and see dead plantings where beautiful shrubs once stood. Last winter, many Heinen customers engaged the grow-team at Heinen to apply anti-desiccant spray to keep their plants healthy. Anti-desiccant spray works by adding a proactive coating to plants to reduce water-loss through evaporation. The biodegradable spray slowly wears off as winter months go by, leaving plants ready to grow again come spring! Click here for more information.
